In the world of culinary innovation, nothing quite stands out as a testament to cutting-edge technology and sophisticated design like the AEG SaphirMatt Induction Cooktop (NIK85M00AZ).
Its advanced surface boasts exceptional resistance to fingerprints and stains, ensuring a more pristine look at all times while withstanding daily rigours and abrasions from pots and pans being dragged along the cooktop. The easy-to-clean SaphirMatt surface even cuts cleanup time in half to surpass cooktops of conventional ceramic surfaces.
Exceptional technology that offers an unparalleled cooking experience demands equally meticulous care to maintain its pristine condition. Here, we’ll show you exactly how to care for this statement piece in your kitchen to ensure its longevity and performance for years to come.
Cleaning the Glass Surface of Your Cooktop
Although the SaphirMatt ceramic glass effectively reduces the appearance of damage and fine scratches from everyday use, its durability is determined by how well it is looked after.
Generally, you should let the cooktop cool down before cleaning things like limescale rings, water rings, fat stains, and shiny metallic discoloration. However, this comes with the exception of melted plastic, plastic foil, salt, sugar, and food with sugar that should be removed promptly to prevent damage to the cooktop.
For optimal cleaning, we recommend using a mildly abrasive cleaning milk and an anti-scratch, delicate sponge. Avoid using abrasive sponges like yellow-green or yellow-black sponges, as they are unsuitable for unique SaphirMatt glass. After cleaning, wiping the cooktop dry with a microfibre cloth will restore its pristine finish.
For more stubborn spills, small circular movements and moderate pressure are recommended. Additionally, a special cooktop scraper designed for glass surfaces used at an acute angle is ideal for removing any remaining food remnants post-cleaning.
Cleaning the Frame
The SaphirMatt Cooktop is equipped with a matte black metal frame on the side that should only be cleaned with a damp cloth, dishwashing liquid, and warm water. Cleaning milk, polishing agents, glass scrapers, and rough sponges could damage the frame so it is best to avoid these.
If you have found crumbs or grains of salt or pepper have accumulated in the gap between the glass surface and the side frame you can use a wooden toothpick to remove the build-up.
