AEG is founded.

1907

Peter Behrens, 'father of industrial design' and architect, is appointed Artistic Consultant for AEG.

1958

Birth of the first fully automated washing machine in the world - the AEG Lavamat.

1961

AEG favorite dishwasher is presented to the world.

1976

AEG brings the world's first fully-electronic oven to the market.

1988

AEG launches its first range of induction cookers.

1993

AEG produces the world’s first CFC free refrigerators and freezers.

1998

AEG commercialises the first heat pump laundry dryer.

2015

AEG launches the first domestic sous vide drawer in Australia.

AEG BRAND AMBASSADOR

Award-winning chef Mark Best is the ambassador for AEG. Mark started his career as a chef accidentally and ended up becoming an unquestionable symbol of Australian cuisine.

Taking culinary inspiration from all over the globe, Mark’s food is inventive, spirited, adaptive and progressive; not bound by the “shackles of culinary history”.

Interestingly, Mark started his working life as an electrician in the gold mines of Western Australia before beginning his culinary career at the age of 25 when he commenced an apprenticeship at the Macleay Street Bistro, Potts Point, in 1990.
